Blaise Diagne International Airport serves as a major aviation hub in Senegal, located near the town of Diass, approximately 45 kilometers east of Dakar. It was named in honor of Blaise Diagne, a prominent Senegalese political figure. The airport stands at an altitude of 290 feet above sea level and was inaugurated in December 2017, replacing Dakar's Léopold Sédar Senghor International Airport as the primary international gateway to the country.
